Welcome, One and All to Urizen!

This is a generic Welcome thread to anyone who is considering Urizen as a nation for the upcoming Empire game.

As you can see from this particular forum, we are eager to explore all the different facets of Urizen culture and interpret it in as many ways as we can.

Whether your game is Religious, Political, Fighty, researchy or simply just wanting to chill in a field with some really nice people, we should be at the top of your list.
From this forumspace alone, our camp can boast several groups with different aims, along with a bar, restaurant, college, tea & cake cafe as prominent features.
A couple of the larger Uriseny groups are resident on these forums, but if you have a group please join in, as this is the place where we would like to share all the knowledge gained aswell as keep in touch with people and plan things. The idea is to try and get all the groups in the nation on here, so that we can communicate with each other, and the newcomers can see what everything in about.

If you are new to LARPing or a seasoned pro there is a place for you amongst our ranks. I have no doubt that the heads of a couple of the groups will give a general overview of their group.

Someone who is more articulate than me can expand, but basically Urizen culture is a very magical one, So it's all about robes, reason and ambition. Inspiration is taken from LOTR elves, fantasy wizards and the like. We are special in the fact that as we are a recent addition to the Empire, we are not influenced much by the other cultures and although may share a few bits, Such as the elegant clothing of the Dawn and Highguard cultures but generally will have a long over-robe aswell.

Hopefully this is a nice over-view of who we are and what the culture will be like. Inside the forums, you will find a really helpful bunch of people - There a a lot of experience players in there who can help you bulk out character concepts, help out with character builds and even give you pointers on costuming.

I really hope that the heads of a couple of the groups will pop onto this thread and say a few brief words about their group, just so you know what's available.

Good post, though Urizen isn't really a new addition having joined sometime during the reign of the second Emperor (22 YE - 34 YE) and the current date is 376 YE. So it's not really very recent, although we (with the exception of the orcs) were the last to join.

Got facts right.

*Raise eyebrow* You mean that the throne breaks down into eight crowns (one for each of the nations that first made-up the Empire, Urizen would have been the ninth.)
But I get what you mean, Urizen has that different flavour. It doesn't provide the Empire with Armies, although it's wizards will go to war if needed against a magical threat, and that the nation as a whole doesn't have that grand-unifying theme, instead each spire will have it's own cause and way of life.

Yup. Although all that was off the top of my head!
